As Heads of Grade, we understand how stressful Grade 10 can be for students, who often neglect their own welfare as they begin their sprint toward the IGCSE finish line. We wanted to offer them an opportunity to shut their books, turn off their iPads, and reconnect with nature.
作为年级组长，我们深知十年级对学生而言压力巨大。为冲刺IGCSE考试，他们时常忽视自己的身心健康。
On October 30th and 31st, we took an overnight trip to Hangzhou, where students hiked through the picturesque Longjing tea fields and visited the famous West Lake.
为帮助学生暂时脱离学业与电子设备的束缚，协和古北于10月30日至 31日组织了一场杭州两天一夜之旅，前往风景如画的龙井茶园徒步，并游览了著名的西湖。
The trip was a defining experience for the students. The adverse weather conditions during the first day’s 10km hike tested their endurance and perseverance, pushing them to expand their limits. With the support of their classmates, they reached the finish line, where a well-deserved bowl of ginger soup welcomed them back at the hotel.
这场旅行对学生们意义非凡。第一天的10公里徒步之旅遭遇了恶劣天气，这不仅考验了学生的耐力与毅力，更让他们在相互扶持冲向终点的过程中突破了自身的极限。当他们胜利返回酒店时，一碗暖心的姜汤正等着他们，这份犒赏实至名归。
On Friday, students formed closer bonds through teamwork as they collaborated on a charming tour around West Lake. They participated in traditional Chinese games, solved riddles, and collected wonderful memories. It was a truly rewarding trip and a wonderful opportunity for us, as Heads of Grade, to see students thriving beyond their screens.
周五，学生们围绕西湖展开了一场惬意愉悦的游览，在团队协作中加深了彼此的羁绊。他们参与中国传统游戏——破解谜语，收获了珍贵的回忆。这趟旅行极具价值，也让作为年级组长的我们，有幸见证学生们在大自然中焕发活力的模样。
Immediately after the G10 PP1 exams, the school organized a team-building hike in Jiuxi, Hangzhou, which became an unforgettable experience. There was a light drizzle along the way, whose rhythmic sound, vibrant greenery, and fresh air refreshed our bodies and minds. Mobile phones were banned during the hike, allowing us to truly immerse ourselves in Jiuxi’s natural environment.
在十年级PP1考试结束后，学校在杭州九溪组织的团建徒步活动成了一段难忘的经历。途中飘着细密的小雨，清脆的雨声、满眼鲜活的绿植与清新的空气，令人身心舒畅。旅途中远离手机的我们，得以全身心感受并沉浸在大自然的怀抱中。
The 10km hike had its ups and downs. As a complete novice, I was a bit hesitant at first, but by following the guide’s lead and listening to the encouragement of my peers, I successfully completed the entire journey. In my opinion, this was an unexpectedly satisfying new experience.
十里山路起伏绵延，毫无徒步经验的我本有些胆怯，但在同学们的相互鼓励和领队的指引下，最终顺利完成了10公里的徒步路程。于我而言，这无疑是一次出乎意料且十分愉快的全新体验。
As enlightening as it is to live in an urban metropolis like Shanghai, sometimes getting out of the city and into the mountains—letting our shoes and clothes get soaked—is a refreshing excursion. As we hiked ten kilometers through the Longjing tea fields, beneath a canopy of green, I found myself squeezed shoulder-to-shoulder with a friend under a single umbrella. By the time we made it back to the buses, I felt that our bond had been strengthened tremendously. Experiencing Hangzhou in the crisp autumn, wandering by the magnificent West Lake with friends, and spending time with each other outside of school made for a truly special trip.
生活在上海这样的都市固然让人视野开阔，但偶尔离开城市步入山野——任凭雨水浸湿鞋履、沾透衣衫，反倒成就了一场神清气爽的远足。我和朋友挤在一把伞下并肩前行，穿行在龙井茶山绵延十公里的绿荫之中。待回到大巴车时，彼此的情谊已在这场风雨同行中深厚了许多。在杭州清朗的秋日里，与朋友们漫步在西子湖畔，得以走出日常校园共度时光——这确实是一段弥足珍贵的旅程。
The Hangzhou team-building trip left me with countless precious memories, especially the hike when a sudden downpour hit. Hiking with my peers in the misty, humid air was a unique and absolutely astonishing experience. I hope we’ll have more memorable trips like this one. Throughout the hike, I learned to support and help my peers. We stuck together, shared umbrellas, and helped each other trek through the hills in the rain. We got drenched but remained determined, and surprisingly, we were among the first to finish!
此次的杭州团建之旅给我留下了许多弥足珍贵的回忆，最为深刻的是徒步途中不期而至的大雨——在朦胧氤氲的山间与同学们并肩前行，是我人生中绝无仅有的独特经历，希望今后我们能拥有更多这样的旅程。在徒步过程中，我也学会了在同伴需要时伸出援手。我们共撑一伞，紧紧相依，在雨中穿行山间。虽然浑身湿透，但我们依然意志坚定地完成了徒步，意外地成为了首批抵达终点的队伍！
A truly memorable moment was the final meal, gathered around a large round table with a group of reliable and collaborative friends. The lazy susan spun constantly, carrying not just delicious local dishes that we had never tried before, but also our shared laughter and stories from the past two days. The light drizzle outside made our warm, dry corner feel even cozier and more secure. Being away from our electronic devices, we rediscovered that food tastes infinitely better when it’s a shared experience. The meal wasn’t just about eating; it was a celebration of our teamwork—through rain or shine, we navigated the challenges and cherished the moments we shared together.
此次旅途最令人难忘的是最后的聚餐——我们围坐在大圆桌旁，身边都是值得信赖、默契协作的伙伴。桌上的转盘不停转动，承载的不仅是未曾品尝过的地道佳肴，更是两天来积攒的欢声笑语与难忘故事。外面飘着的蒙蒙细雨，让我们所处的温暖干燥的角落显得愈发温馨惬意。远离电子设备的喧嚣后，我们才发现，当大家拥有共同的体验时，食物才会变得格外美味。这不仅是简单地享用餐食，更像一场对团队精神的赞颂——无论晴雨，我们同舟共济，风雨与共，一起珍藏这段属于我们的美好时光。
