For the fourth year running, SUIS Gubei transformed March 14 into something far more significant than a date on the calendar. The annual Pi Day celebration once again united students and staff in an afternoon where mathematics took center stage, with the much-anticipated bidding war and its creamy conclusion stealing the show.
连续第四年，协和古北将 3月14日 赋予了远超日历日期的特殊意义。一年一度的π圆周率日庆典再度将师生们汇聚一堂，在这个以数学为主角的下午，备受期待的竞拍环节及其奶油满满的压轴戏码成为全场焦点。
But what unfolded on campus was a far cry from a simple pastry-tossing affair. Under the guidance of primary organizer Mr. Kenneth Merritt, the Mathematics Department joined forces with the House system to completely reimagine the experience. What emerged was a high-energy, House-centered competition that turned mathematical appreciation into an all-out battle of wits, coordination, and school spirit.
校园里上演的绝非简单的“扔派”活动。在活动主策划人Kenneth Merritt老师的带领下，数学组将活动与学院制竞赛体系结合，对活动进行了全新升级。最终呈现的是一场活力四射的学院对抗赛，将对数学的热爱转化为一场集智慧、协作与校园精神于一体的实力较量。
Pi, that endlessly fascinating number which has intrigued minds for generations, provided the perfect backdrop for an afternoon charged with excitement. Behind the scenes, a dedicated team worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly. Academia Prefects, Donny Zhang (11DD) and Cindy Jing (11SED), stepped up as the event’s energetic hosts while contributing significantly to planning efforts alongside Prefect Supervisor Ms. Ying Li, House Coordinator Mr. Stephen Leader, and Head of Mathematics Mr. Agrix Neri Go.
π圆周率——这个千百年来始终令人类为之着迷的数字，为这个激情洋溢的午后拉开了精彩序幕。
幕后，一支尽职尽责的筹备团队为活动的顺利推进倾注了大量心血：学生会学术干事Donny Zhang（11DD）与 Cindy Jing（11SED）不仅担任活动主持，更在学生会负责人李老师、学院活动负责人Stephen Leader老师及数学组组长Agrix Neri Go老师的协助下，扎扎实实参与了活动策划的每一步。
The House Competition came alive through three cleverly crafted challenge zones, each testing different skills.
今年的学院竞赛共设置了三大挑战区，各有侧重、考验各学院的不同能力：
The first, Circular Race. In this lively relay, teams of six must weave through a series of cones while holding a plastic stick together without letting go. The first house to have all 12 members complete the winding course and return to the start line wins.
第一项：环形竞速。在这场热闹的接力赛中，六人小队需紧握同一根塑料杆绕过一系列锥形障碍物，率先完成全部 12名队员绕圈并返回起点的学院获胜。
At the second station, Run for the Right Digit. This fast-paced memory game challenges teams to recall and race to the correct digits of Pi as they’re projected on screen — one wrong move and you’re out.
第二项：数字冲刺。这是一场快节奏记忆挑战游戏，屏幕逐位滚动圆周率数字时，参赛团队需迅速记忆并冲向对应数字站位，一步出错即被淘汰。
Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for: the Pie in the Face auction. This year, organizers introduced an element of delicious uncertainty.
随后便是万众期待的高光时刻：砸派竞拍。今年，学校还特别加入了趣味悬念，让活动惊喜加倍。
The bidding itself crackled with energy as students pooled their resources for a shot at their favorite teachers. An incredible 46 staff members from every corner of the school volunteered as targets, a powerful reminder of the bonds that make this community special.
竞拍环节气氛热烈非凡，学生们纷纷合力出资，只为赢得向喜爱的老师 “扔派” 的机会。全校 46 位来自各部门的教职工主动化身 “被扔目标”，生动诠释了这个校园大家庭的温暖联结。
The live pie bidding featured three members of the SUIS Gubei Senior Leadership Team, Ms. Grace Jiang, Mr. Rick Spadafora, and Mr. Bright Liu — alongside special guest Mr. Neil Bunting from SUIS Hongqiao Campus, a longtime supporter of the Mathematics Department’s Pi Day events.
本次现场竞拍环节特邀协和古北三位管理层领导 —— 蒋书记、Rick Spadafora 校长和刘校长。以及来自协和虹桥校区的特邀嘉宾Neil Bunting 校长，他长期以来一直鼎力支持数学组的圆周率日活动。
