Yesterday, SUIS Gubei held its very first Career Fair, a special and meaningful event for the entire campus.
For IB students, the future is not a distant concept. It is embodied in every EE, every CAS activity, and in this school-wide career exploration experience.
昨天，上海协和双语高级中学古北校区迎来了一场特别的活动——首届 Career Fair。
对于IB学习者来说，“未来”不是一个遥远的词。它藏在每一篇EE里，藏在每一次CAS行动中，也藏在今天这场全校参与的行业探索里。
16 Inspiring Workshops: An Interdisciplinary Exploration
16个工作坊：一次真实的“跨学科”体验
The event offered 16 interdisciplinary workshops covering law, finance, AI, chip design, engineering, media, art, sports, biomedical science, psychology and other fields.
This experience focused on active career exploration. Students did not listen passively, but engaged, participated and reflected thoughtfully.
In the AI workshop, students discussed technology, ethics and responsibility, reflecting the core ideas of TOK.
In the art and media session, students demonstrated creativity and self-expression, in line with the core competencies emphasized by IB education.
Students were free to choose and attend different workshops based on their interests and future aspirations.
法律、金融、AI、芯片、工程、传媒、艺术、体育、生物医学、心理学等多个不同行业的工作坊同时开放。
这不是一次被动听讲，而是一次主动的“职业探究”。
在AI工作坊，学生讨论的不仅是技术，还有伦理与责任（TOK的影子）；在艺术与传媒专场，创造力和表达成为关键词（这正是IB看重的核心素养）。
每个学生都可以根据自己的兴趣和未来规划，自由选择、灵活穿梭。
Our Guest Speakers: Part of the SUIS Gubei Community
站上讲台的人：来自协和古北大家庭
All guest speakers were proud members of the SUIS Gubei community.
They included current parents, who shared valuable insights as lawyers, chip engineers, biomedical mentors, producers and other professionals.
They included alumni, who offered authentic guidance based on their IB journey, university applications and early career experiences.
They also included parents of graduates, who provided practical advice from years of observation and support.
This close, genuine sharing is one of the most valuable strengths of our SUIS Gubei community.
所有嘉宾都有一个共同的身份——协和古北社区的一员。
他们是学生的家长，平时出现在家长会和校门口，昨天却以律师、芯片工程师、生物医学导师、制片人的身份走进教室。
他们是校友，经历过IB大考、大学申请和职场初体验，用最真实的故事告诉学弟学妹：这条路，有人走过。
还有毕业生的家长，带着多年的陪伴与观察，从另一个视角给出诚恳的建议。
没有距离感的分享，正是协和古北社区最宝贵的资源。
Whole-School Engagement: From Curiosity to Active Inquiry
全校参与：从好奇到“主动探究”
All students from Grades 9 to 12 fully participated in the event.Grade 9 students gained their first systematic exposure to a wide range of career pathways. Grade 12 students actively asked about university majors, internship opportunities and essential skills for the future.
After the event, students shared that economics is closely connected to finance, policy and psychology, and that engineering is far more interesting than they had imagined.
This aligns perfectly with the IB philosophy: breaking down disciplinary boundaries and linking learning to the real world.
IB education emphasizes continuous career planning, rather than short-term preparation before graduation.
From CAS and EE to university applications and subject choices, IB students constantly reflect on their personal growth and direction.
This Career Fair made that reflection more concrete and authentic.
从九年级到十二年级，每一位学生都投入其中。
九年级的学生第一次系统性地接触这么多职业方向；十二年级的学生则抓住机会追问：这个专业在大学学什么？实习怎么找？我在大学阶段应该具备什么样的能力？
有学生在工作坊结束后说：
“以前觉得学经济就是做题，今天才知道它和金融、政策、甚至心理学都有关系。”
“原来工程这么有趣，并没有想象中那么乏味~”
这正是IB理念所鼓励的——打破学科边界，看见真实世界的连接。因为IB教育从不把“职业规划”留到毕业之后。
从CAS项目到EE选题，从大学申请到专业方向，IB学习者一直在回答同一个问题：我想成为什么样的人？
这场Career Fair，就是让这个问题变得更具体、更真实。
