A touch of pink across campus speaks of courage and inclusion; a heartfelt dialogue at home nurtures connection and care. During the past Wellbeing Month, we brought understanding, connection, and love into every corner of the campus and every home through two heartwarming activities.
Meeting in Pink: A Day of Understanding and Connection
Pink Day
On what seemed like an ordinary school day, touches of pink quietly began to appear across campus. Some added a hint of pink to their outfits, some wore small pink accessories, and others simply paused a little longer in the crowd, taking in what was happening around them. It was on this day that we came together for our Anti-Bullying Pink Day.
Pink Day began with a simple yet powerful act—students wearing pink to support a peer who was being bullied. Over time, this gesture has grown into a global movement, reminding us to notice the kinds of harm that can easily go unseen in everyday life, and to recognize that each of us has the ability to shift the atmosphere, even in small ways.
This year, we responded to that spirit with a simple message: Be a buddy, not a bully.
Be a buddy, not a bully.

Rather than setting up complex structures or requiring participation, we invited everyone to take part in small, meaningful ways. Some chose to wear pink, making support visible across the campus. Others stopped by the Anti-Bullying Wall to sign their names—a quiet but intentional commitment to respect and to not causing harm to others.
A group of students also took the initiative to design badges for the day. Each small badge, printed with the words “side by side,” carries a simple but powerful idea: that in moments when it matters, we can stand with one another, rather than leaving someone to face things alone. Choosing to wear it becomes a gentle reminder that kindness is not distant or abstract—it is something we can choose, and something that can be seen.
At the same time, informational posters placed around the campus offered another, quieter invitation to reflect. Instead of providing fixed answers, they asked questions: What does bullying really look like? Is it only found in obvious conflict, or can it also exist in jokes, exclusion, or everyday interactions we have come to accept? Sometimes, simply pausing to ask, “Could this make someone uncomfortable?” is where change begins.

We did not create this day with the expectation that everything would be resolved at once. Rather, it was meant as a moment to pause—to notice, to feel, and to reconsider how we relate to one another. More often than not, change does not come from grand gestures, but from small, everyday choices: a second glance, a word left unsaid, or choosing to move a little closer when someone needs it.
Pink Day may come to an end, but what it leaves behind is perhaps a slightly different way of seeing—how we share space with others, and how we can help one another feel safer, and more supported.

Nurturing Happiness: Growing Together with Our Children
SUIS Gubei Parent Well-being Talk
During the same week, we also welcomed parents to a meaningful and heartwarming session—a space for reflection, learning, and connection.
Led by Molly, an experienced family education expert with over a decade of practice and a Master’s degree in Happiness Studies, the talk centered on “happy parenting.” Through her guidance, parents were encouraged to better understand their children, while also reconnecting with themselves, building more compassionate and resilient parent-child relationships.
Together, we explored the pressures children may face, as well as the hopes and challenges experienced by parents. We learned more mindful and effective ways of communication—moving beyond common pitfalls and building stronger bridges through listening, understanding, and support.
Equally valuable was the sense of connection among parents. Through open sharing, participants felt seen, heard, and supported—reminded that no one walks the parenting journey alone.
We come together because of our children, and we grow together through shared experiences. With school and families working hand in hand, we continue to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for every child.

Kindness, like pink, protects and connects.
Nurturing, in turn, allows happiness to grow.
May we continue side by side—making our campus warmer, our families stronger, and every child’s journey gently supported.
This sense of care extends far beyond a single day or event.
In the small, everyday moments, we remain attentive to and supportive of our students’ well-being, working to create an environment where every child feels safe, respected, and supported.
