The trip to World Scholars Cup 2017 Global Round Hanoi was an incredible experience! For many of us, this year was the first time our senior team competed in the senior division. With over 1400 scholars, we have 29 scholars in 10 teams including one junior scholar team and 9 senior scholar teams. The competition was exceptionally tough yet we achieved excellent results bringing home more than 100 medals and 6 out of 10 teams qualified for the Tournament of Champions at Yale University in November. Thank you so much Ms. Yu, Mr. Hall and Ms. Rowe as well as our student leader Martin Dong for leading the team! We could not achieve such a great success without your support!—— Gigi Dai G10SX & Xixi Lei G10SH
World Scholars Cup has been an essential activity in my academic life for almost 3 years. It is an academic competition that not only binds together intellectuals from across the world but also helps them exhibit their individual talents. The highest achieving teams from the regional rounds qualify to the global rounds, finally ending this journey at the Yale University in Connecticut, US. This competition does not majorly focus upon the gains of individuals, but rather acts as surface to help students find their interests and desires.—— Nisthula Rajesh 10MK
During this competition my team and I gained experience in not only learning, but socializing. We made friends who we’ve never met before. On this journey, together my team and I found ways in which we can cooperate and work together efficiently, there were some challenges and some conflict, but in the end we had a lot of fun. As this global round in Hanoi Vietnam came to an end, as our team qualifies as the top 101th team to go to Yale for the tournament of champions, our team gained a lot of experience from this, and we knew no matter how bad we did, we tried our best, not alone, but as a team.—— Katrina Lee G09LW
