In line with our dedication to academic excellence, SUIS Gubei collaborated with Me to We China (www.metowe.cn) in September 2024 to create a distinctive educational opportunity for our Grade 9 students. Although the core activity was a one-day event held last September, the initiative extended throughout the entire semester. Recently, students finalized their analysis reports, which significantly enhanced their comprehension of the ecological conditions at the reserve.
秉持对学术卓越的追求，协和古北于2024年9月与“我为人人”中国（网址：www.metowe.cn）合作，为我校九年级学生组织了一场独特的教育体验活动。尽管这是去年9月开展的仅为期一天的活动，但整个活动跨越了整个学期，就在近期，学生们刚刚完成了他们的分析报告，这进一步加深了他们对保护区生态状况的理解。
The students visited the Shanghai Chongming Dongtan Bird National Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to conduct ecological surveys of the environment and wildlife. Under the guidance of local university professors, they gained exclusive access to sensitive ecosystems, where they performed water quality testing, collected soil samples, measured local fauna, and observed migratory bird behavior. Over the course of a full day, students employed various scientific techniques to gather data and meticulously recorded their findings.
学生们参观了上海崇明东滩鸟类国家级自然保护区，这是一处联合国教科文组织世界遗产地，他们在此对环境和野生动植物开展生态调查。在当地大学教授的指导下，他们获得了进入敏感生态系统的特别许可，在那里进行了水质检测、采集土壤样本、测量当地动物情况以及观察候鸟行为。在一整天的时间里，学生们运用各种科学技术收集数据，并一丝不苟地记录下自己的发现。
This excursion not only fostered teamwork and socialization but also served as a critical exercise in developing data-collection skills essential for future International Baccalaureate (IB) assessments. Although the trip itself lasted only one day, the skills and knowledge gained were reinforced throughout the first semester in Maths and Science lessons. As part of their Chinese New Year holiday homework, students revisited their data from Dongtan, processing it into graphs, analyzing results, and drawing evidence-based conclusions. Their individual reports provided a detailed and insightful portrayal of the reserve’s ecological structure.
这次外出活动不仅培养了团队合作精神和社交能力，而且还是培养数据收集技能的一项关键实践，这些技能对于未来的国际文凭大学预科课程（IB）评估来说至关重要。尽管此次行程本身仅为期一天，但所获得的技能和知识在第一学期的数学和科学课程中都得到了巩固强化。作为春节假期作业的一部分，学生们重新查看了他们在东滩收集的数据，将其整理成图表，分析结果，并得出有依据的结论。他们的个人报告对该保护区的生态结构进行了详细且颇有见地的描述。

By combining real-world scientific exploration with high-level analytical tasks, SUIS Gubei continues to prepare its students for the academic challenges that lie ahead.
